Women Learning Skilled Trades in Windsor Ontario

Womens Enterprise Skilled Training of Windsor

I had the great pleasure to take a tour of this amazing facility.  As a Professor at St. Clair College I have the honor to teach our next generation of young adults which is very rewarding.  Windsor Enterprise Skilled Training  is located at the Roundhouse shopping on Howard Avenue beside Lee Valley Tool.  The training is available for both Women and Men.

I was very impressed to see just how many programs that they offered, including Mental Wellness Training.  Many women who are victims of Partner Violence have decided to empower themselves in getting trained in a male dominated sector.  They are provided the counselling, and rebuilding their confidence. This service was opened in 1987 and has another office downtown which offers assistance for Youth.  They provide Red Seal training, which is training that is recognized Province wide.

This is valuable training which is only possible through Government funding.  We need more women to get this valuable training. When I am nominated and become the next Windsor West MP I will ensure that funding for this organization and similar initiatives will always be available.

I am a Professor at St. Clair College, training students in the subject of Power Engineering.  Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see the faces of these students when they graduate.

I want to continue to support training and education and other similar initiatives.  Windsor needs more skilled labour to attract and maintain existing and new businesses.  It is my why I am running to be YOUR next Conservative Candidate for Windsor West.  Please contact me if you would like to support my campaign to be voted in as the official candidate.

WEST in Windsor Ontario is government funded

WEST Women's Enterprise Skilled Training

This training is only available with the generous funding from our Provincial and Federal Government.

What I learned from my visit to WEST:

  • Training for women in skilled trades is essential for fostering economic independence, closing gender gaps, and addressing labor shortages in critical industries.
  • By equipping women with the technical skills and certifications needed in fields such as construction, welding, plumbing, and electrical work, training programs empower them to secure well-paying, stable careers traditionally dominated by men.
  • It encourages women’s participation in these trades not only promotes diversity and innovation but also helps dismantle stereotypes, paving the way for future generations of skilled female workers.
  • Additionally, businesses benefit from a more inclusive workforce, leading to improved productivity and fresh perspectives.
  • Investing in training opportunities ensures that women have equal access to the growing demand for skilled labor, ultimately strengthening the workforce and the economy.

Now all we need is to attract and encourage more businesses to invest in Windsor, Ontario
